The background image size is 400 pixels wide and 40 pixels tall.

I set a border around it so you can see it's actual size. If you
don't
use CSS to control the placement of this background image, it will look
like the below image in any browser that is sized greater than 400 pixels
wide. (This demonstration assumes that your browser is sized at greater
than 400 pixels.) Try to read the type across the page below:
